Buying Lingerie For Her
You are a man that likes to live on the edge. Yes, you are a risk taker of extraordinary courage. How do we know this? You’ve decided to buy intimate apparel for the lady of your life.
Buying lingerie for your wife or girlfriend is a high risk, high reward process. If you get it right and she likes the gift, you are going to be a happy man. It is better to have died a small child, however, than to get it wrong. Assuming you are brave enough to undertake this mission, let’s move along.
In truth, buying lingerie for a loved one is not as risky as it sounds. You just need to stick to certain basic guidelines and avoid traps that can turn a well meant gift into a situation where someone gets angry.
As a man, you are probably thinking the purpose of lingerie is to grab your attention. This is generally true, but not when you are giving it as a gift. In this scenario, the lingerie is for her and you better keep that in mind. Get a firm grip on the colors and styles that she wears. You want to buy something in this range because she obviously is comfortable with it. Whatever you do, avoid buying something because it looks good on a model, to wit, another woman! There is no greater mistake you can make.
Your first step in the lingerie buying process is to find some private time in your house. When your wife is out, rampage through her delicates. Take notes. Write down the sizes, the styles and so on. If you are confused, pick out pieces she wears that you like and write down the brand and product number on the tags. You can then show these to a clerk who can then direct you to similar lingerie.
Now, a quick world of warning. Your loved one may have something in her closet that she is keeping, but does not wear anymore. The reason? She has outgrown it. What do you think is going to happen if you buy her lingerie that is too small? It is going to be ugly. Make sure you are looking at undergarments and lingerie she has worn recently so your good intentions do not turn into the worst day in your life.
Okay, you are ready to buy. You know the styles and sizes she likes. You have a good idea of the colors she likes. What do you do? Walk into a store carrying lingerie and walk right past the clothes. Your goal is to find a clerk you are comfortable with. Provide her with all the information you have. Do not be embarrassed! She will think highly of you since you have obviously given the process a lot of thought.
As the clerk shows you different items, try to picture whether the lady of your life would actually wear such items. If so, then you may have that successful lingerie gift. If not, move on to the next item.
